Why we have started the Fresh Seafood Shop in Wagga Wagga?

The nearest sea, the Tasman Sea is approximately 260 kilometres east-southeast of Wagga Wagga. Currently, there is no regular fresh seafood shop in Wagga Wagga. There are a few reasons for the limited availability of fresh seafood in Wagga Wagga, such as storage, transport, and safety. Therefore, the population of Wagga Wagga consumes comparatively little seafood. The Riverina seafood market will be the first of its kind in Wagga Wagga. It will provide a steady supply of numerous varieties of affordable fresh seafood to the local population. The project objectives will align with those of the ‘Eat more NSW seafood programme 2023’. The planned initiative will increase the sustainability and quality of seafood in New South Wales. Through various activities, the project will also promote the health benefits of seafood intake among the local populace.
